Helping Your Elders…

I really feel so sorry for senior citizens who don’t have family to help them with things that they don’t understand. I can’t tell you how many times a week my Gram will call me and ask to explain something that she received in the mail or ask me to call a company who has taken advantage of her in some way. I don’t know what my Gram would do if she didn’t have me there to get her out of everything that she gets into.

One thing I can’t ever help her with though is stuff to do with insurance and medicare. I know nothing about life insurance or the Medicare part D plan, so those things are best explained by professionals. I wouldn’t mind searching the Internet for answers for her, but usually she just contacts the specific companies or other resources for help which is just fine by me!

This Is A Costly State…

I really hate living in New Jersey. I think this is one of the most expensive states in the country and in my opinion, it has so little to offer. Granted I haven’t been everywhere in New Jersey or done everything, but from want I’ve seen in my over 20 years of living it’s really not worth living here. The cost of things like car insurance, health care and housing are ridiculous. Sometimes it feels as if it’s too costly to do anything. That’s probably why I don’t drive or have any type of insurance or heath care. Smh.

I’ve researched health insurance rates and have even come across some term life insurance rates in New Jersey and I would definitely need a second job to be able to afford those things. I probably shouldn’t think too bad of New Jersey though. I’m sure those things are expensive in every state.

I’d Travel For Insurance

It’s really a pain not having health insurance. You never really realize how important it is or how much you need it until you get sick. I’ve been suffering from migraines for a while now and over the past few weeks I’ve also had very bad earaches off and on. The pain gets to be too much sometimes and my mom is always suggesting that I go to the hospital. I don’t think going to the hospital is even an option.

Although something may really be wrong with me, I’m not willing to take all those tests and have them give me a simple explanation or the runaround. I’ll feel even worse having to pay the hospital back out of my pockets. I don’t think it’s worth it. I think health care should be free or at least cheaper. I’d go as far an North Carolina to get NC health insurance if it was cheaper than it is here.

Good Riddance, Eczema…

I finally purchased a new facial cleanser. It’s actually some type of scrub or masque, I think. I’m really excited about giving it a try because my face has been giving me a fit lately. It’s been really dry and I’ve been having frequent breakouts which I’m not really used to. I’m used to having relatively perfect skin. I’m not sure what happened. Ever since I had that horrible occurrence of eczema late last year my skin has never been the same. I hate eczema!

I’m lucky that my eczema mostly occurred on my arms and back. Some people in my family get it all over their face and neck. It’s so itchy and annoying. I hope mine doesn’t ever return. So far so good. I guess trying a mixture of natural eczema treatments and over-the-counter products really made a difference. I couldn’t really even say what exactly made the eczema go away because I tried so many different things. I’m just glad it’s gone!
