Special Flowers…
July 30th, 2010 Posted 4:01 pm
My mom and I have a really amazing relationship. One of the many sweet things that she does for me is giving me flowers. She loves to randomly buy me flowers and bring them home as a surprise. I love receiving them as well. This is something that we’ve been doing for many years. When I was younger I would always order her $1 carnations for special occasions. They were kind of cheap, but hey, I wasn’t even a teen then. She loved them anyway. Now she’s the one who’s constantly ordering the flowers.
I’m usually not a huge flower lover, but I’d be lying if I said receiving flowers as a surprise doesn’t give me a great feeling inside. It makes you feel special and thought about. If there is someone special in your life I’m sure ordering summer flowers for them would be a great way to let them know how you feel about them. It’s a guaranteed way to put a smile on someone’s face!

A Much Deserved Break…
May 20th, 2010 Posted 10:16 pm
After nine months of ministry work my mom and I are finally going on hiatus. Last year was the first time that we went on hiatus and we liked it, so now we’re going to go on a hiatus every year. We basically go on hiatus for the months of June, July, and August, then we return during the yearly anniversary in September. This year we’re celebrating 15 years. I can hardly believe it! I’m so excited. We’re still trying to figure out a way to celebrate the 15th anniversary.
I’m definitely going to miss helping her do things, but she can use the break. She works so much harder than I do. She’s the creative force behind everything and she does about 60 percent of the grunt work, sometimes more. I help her do whatever I can and I also try to help with supplies. It will be nice to get a break to refocus. It’s also cool that we wont have to worry about buying office supplies or anything else. At least for three months. Especially since we’re a non-profit ministry.

Good Riddance, Eczema…
May 13th, 2010 Posted 10:57 pm
I finally purchased a new facial cleanser. It’s actually some type of scrub or masque, I think. I’m really excited about giving it a try because my face has been giving me a fit lately. It’s been really dry and I’ve been having frequent breakouts which I’m not really used to. I’m used to having relatively perfect skin. I’m not sure what happened. Ever since I had that horrible occurrence of eczema late last year my skin has never been the same. I hate eczema!
I’m lucky that my eczema mostly occurred on my arms and back. Some people in my family get it all over their face and neck. It’s so itchy and annoying. I hope mine doesn’t ever return. So far so good. I guess trying a mixture of natural eczema treatments and over-the-counter products really made a difference. I couldn’t really even say what exactly made the eczema go away because I tried so many different things. I’m just glad it’s gone!

Mommy’s Weekend…
May 10th, 2010 Posted 10:34 am
Hey guys, I hope you all had a great weekend. My weekend was pretty spiffy. First of all, we celebrated my mom’s 49th birthday. That was awesome. We really didn’t do much of anything but it was great to see her live to see another year and enjoy her day. Then of course Sunday was Mother’s Day. That was great. Not only did I get to spend that day with her, but I also got to see my Goddaughter. She came into town on Friday, but I only ended up seeing her for about an hour on Sunday. She got in late on Friday so she didn’t come over, then on Saturday she went to New York with her mom and grandma.
I’m happy that I at least got to spend the time with her that I did! Of course she was happy that she went home with more money than when she came. I thought I was supposed to get the gifts! Lol. Besides that, my weekend was pretty standard. Nothing exciting really happened. I’m planning to start my diet today which should be interesting. Hopefully I can actually stick with it this time. I have new motivation so we’ll see.
