Work Woes…
October 13th, 2010 Posted 9:49 pm
For a while I was really enjoying my job, but now I feel like I’m back in a rut again. I mean, truthfully I never enjoy my job, but it was working well for me last month. I made more money last month than I have in a while (that’s not saying much, trust me!) and the work seemed less stressful, but this month things are kind of back to the way they typically are. Most of that is my fault though. I’ve been having the migraines and head pains again, so my tolerance, focus and productivity have been suffering.
Although my job is really unpredictable and frustrating at times I know that it could be a lot worse. I’m grateful for the opportunities that I have. I just want to stay focused on the biggest picture, and that’s taking care of my mom. That’s my biggest priority. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll get a different job, but for now I’m happy where I’m at. My job doesn’t pay as much as some tech jobs, but I can’t complain!
Partially Insured…

After years of considering and a lot of time spent searching, my mom has finally found a life insurance company that she’s content with. The guy came to her job when they were having an in-service and discussed different options with her. After giving it some thought she decided to sign up with that company. It sounds like a pretty good offer, but who really knows. Now that she has some type of insurance for herself it’s up to me to get some for myself. I want to make sure she’s protected if anything happens to me as well.
I’m so happy that this process is almost over though. It was so frustrating at times. I guess I’ll have to deal with something similar if my job ever offers a better option for health insurance. The only thing I don’t have to worry about just yet is car insurance quotes because I’m not a driver!

Helping Your Elders…
September 5th, 2010 Posted 9:19 am
I really feel so sorry for senior citizens who don’t have family to help them with things that they don’t understand. I can’t tell you how many times a week my Gram will call me and ask to explain something that she received in the mail or ask me to call a company who has taken advantage of her in some way. I don’t know what my Gram would do if she didn’t have me there to get her out of everything that she gets into.
One thing I can’t ever help her with though is stuff to do with insurance and medicare. I know nothing about life insurance or the Medicare part D plan, so those things are best explained by professionals. I wouldn’t mind searching the Internet for answers for her, but usually she just contacts the specific companies or other resources for help which is just fine by me!

It’s Always Best To Prep!
June 16th, 2010 Posted 9:55 am
I’ve been feeling really unfulfilled with my job lately. I still like the freedom and opportunities I have with the job, but it seems as if it’s becoming more difficult for me to keep up a steady pace. I think it has a lot to do with being overwhelmed, stressed, discouraged, and unmotivated. Those things have a way of bringing you down! It makes me want to go back to school and get a degree in a different field. I wish I would have done that sooner. When I was younger I was so afraid of branching out into a more difficult field of study because I didn’t want to fail. Now there are so many places online that can help you prepare for courses and tests. It’s awesome.
For instance, if someone wanted to be a lawyer they could sign up for Knewton’s lsat prep courses. They offer so much help for students preparing for the law school admission test. And it’s so convenient since it’s online. I like prep courses. I don’t care how much you think you know, a prep course will always come in handy and show you things that you may have forgotten or haven’t even considered!
