Surviving The Storms
November 10th, 2011 Posted 8:47 am
Recently we had a pretty bad snow storm here in New Jersey that did a lot of damage. The snow storm itself wasn’t very bad, but I guess because it doesn’t usually snow in October everything was thrown off. I believe something close to 1 million people were without power. Many people were still without power days later. That was very strange! New Jersey has definitely been getting weather that we never seen before. From carpets and furniture on the garbage to flooded basements, there are signs of water damage in so many places.
So many people in Jersey haven’t even recovered from the water damage and other problems suffered from that hurricane we experienced a few months ago. Scary. I was on The Steam Team’s website and it just made me think about what so many people are going through. The Steam Team is based in Texas, but I hope there is a similar company here.
NJ residents can really use carpet cleaning and restoration services right about now. I like that The Steam Team extracts water from water-damaged homes, offers an anti-microbial application and dries everything properly. That is so important if you want to prevent mold and further loss of property.
I’m Still Grateful

My best friend and I are constantly talking about how much we dislike our jobs. In fact, I don’t know which of us hates our job the most. I think he’s better off than I am because he gets more work/hours, which of course translates into more money. No matter how unhappy we are with our jobs though, we do realize how blessed and fortunate we are to have an income when so many people are out of work.
I don’t like complaining about my job because I don’t ever want to sound unappreciative. But it’s such a fine line between being honest and sounding ungrateful, you know? Hopefully one day I’ll be able to earn money from doing something I love. Or at least something that’s a little more secure, such as Radiologic Technician Jobs. Jobs in the healthcare field seem to be some of the most reliable since people always require the service.

Not For Sale

A few weeks ago my aunt told me that she had purchased a table for a flea market being held by her church and she wanted me to make some stuff that she could sell. I was all for the idea, but as the date got closer I kind of backed out. I really didn’t have any time to make new stuff and the stuff that I did make I didn’t want to part with. I couldn’t stand the idea of selling things that I worked so hard on. Especially for $1 at a flea market.
I did end up giving her a bunch of stuff to sell though. I wanted to keep my word, even if the stuff wasn’t handmade. Hopefully she appreciated that at least. I hope the next time an opportunity to purchase a table at a flea rolls around I’ll be ready. I’d love to have Display Banner Stands with promotional stuff for my website as well as homemade products.

Hate To Think About It…

Today my mom ran into a family friend who recently lost her mother and it was an eye-opening experience. She was telling my mom how hard it is trying to get all of her mom’s affairs in order and how stressful it is trying to pay for everything. The stuff she was telling my mom really blew my mind. I never knew dying was so complicated. She was telling her so many things that we never knew. There is so much you have to do with wills and estates and all kinds of things. Wow.
It was crazy hearing her say all of that since I don’t even have life insurance, let alone a will. I hate thinking about people around me dying and I never want to talk about stuff like that, but I need to get over it because it is so important to have your affairs in order before you die or your family will definitely suffer. I need life insurance and a will, stat!
