It’s Always Best To Prep!
June 16th, 2010 Posted 9:55 am
I’ve been feeling really unfulfilled with my job lately. I still like the freedom and opportunities I have with the job, but it seems as if it’s becoming more difficult for me to keep up a steady pace. I think it has a lot to do with being overwhelmed, stressed, discouraged, and unmotivated. Those things have a way of bringing you down! It makes me want to go back to school and get a degree in a different field. I wish I would have done that sooner. When I was younger I was so afraid of branching out into a more difficult field of study because I didn’t want to fail. Now there are so many places online that can help you prepare for courses and tests. It’s awesome.
For instance, if someone wanted to be a lawyer they could sign up for Knewton’s lsat prep courses. They offer so much help for students preparing for the law school admission test. And it’s so convenient since it’s online. I like prep courses. I don’t care how much you think you know, a prep course will always come in handy and show you things that you may have forgotten or haven’t even considered!
A Much Deserved Break…
May 20th, 2010 Posted 10:16 pm
After nine months of ministry work my mom and I are finally going on hiatus. Last year was the first time that we went on hiatus and we liked it, so now we’re going to go on a hiatus every year. We basically go on hiatus for the months of June, July, and August, then we return during the yearly anniversary in September. This year we’re celebrating 15 years. I can hardly believe it! I’m so excited. We’re still trying to figure out a way to celebrate the 15th anniversary.
I’m definitely going to miss helping her do things, but she can use the break. She works so much harder than I do. She’s the creative force behind everything and she does about 60 percent of the grunt work, sometimes more. I help her do whatever I can and I also try to help with supplies. It will be nice to get a break to refocus. It’s also cool that we wont have to worry about buying office supplies or anything else. At least for three months. Especially since we’re a non-profit ministry.

Welcomed Pain…
March 30th, 2010 Posted 10:57 pm
I sent my friend a text asking how she was doing and she said she was in pain because she had to get some teeth extracted. I feel so bad for her. That really does sound painful. As much as that hurts I would really love to have dental surgery right about now. I have two wisdom teeth that have been giving me a fit for quite some time. I would love to have both of them extracted. I probably would have done that by now, but unfortunately I don’t have dental insurance.
My job offered me insurance a few months ago but the rates weren’t that great. I need to look around online and see if there’s anything that I can afford. I need insurance that’s flexible. Even if I can’t find any insurance online, hopefully I can at least get an idea of how much I’ll have to pay.
Missing The Newness…
March 17th, 2010 Posted 9:38 pm
I think it’s funny that when I was looking for a new job I was willing to grind so hard to pretty much get anything that was decent and paid well. Now that I have a job that fits the bill I’ve kind of lost my enthusiasm for it. The “newness” has worn off and now it’s all about work. I think when you first start a new job you’re just so happy to have it (especially the way the economy is going right now) that the thought of financial security motivates you. You look forward to getting up early and staying up late if you have to. But once that job becomes a routine you realize what it takes to keep it up.
I definitely love my job and I’m very happy to have it though. At this point in my life I don’t think I could really ask for anything better or more convenient. I just wish I had the same motivation I had when I was on the job search. I think if I manage my time better and get more sleep I’ll actually look forward to doing my job daily.
